Respawn's Titanfall leaked, set for PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360

Respawn Entertainment's debut game has leaked ahead of its planned E3 reveal next week.

It's called Titanfall and is a PC and Xbox One and Xbox 360 first-person shooter, according to the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, spotted by NeoGAF user Cartman86.

Cartman86, who posted the cover image, said the Xbox 360 version is being developed by another studio, and the multiplayer-focused game uses the Cloud extensively.

According to another NeoGAF poster, the Cloud will provide Titanfall with unlimited dedicated servers, add AI to the mix, will handle complex physics calculations and make for quicker and more accurate matchmaking. According to Respawn, Titanfall wouldn't be possible without the Cloud.

"After a bitter split with Activision and Call of Duty Respawn debuts its bold vision for next-gen multiplayer," reads Game Informer's cover.

The Titanfall artwork on the cover of the magazine shows a woman blasting a mech, which is in keeping with existing reports about the game.

Other snippets from the preview: Titanfall will be released in the spring of 2014, is built using Valve's Source Engine and includes mech and ground combat (with the mechs called Titans and player characters called Pilots).

Publisher EA snapped up Titanfall after Call of Duty co-creators Vince Zampella and Jason West were fired from Infinity Ward. The game looks set to go head to head with Bungie's Destiny - published by EA's bitter rival Activision - next year.

- To my eyes it looks visually very nice.

- First person shooter

- "Mech" and ground combat

- "Mech's" are called Titans.

- They want these Titans to feel fast. They can dodge etc.

- If you don't want to pilot the Titan you can have it follow you, killing people as it goes along.

- Player characters are called Pilots

- They are extremely agile. Can run on walls, multiple jumps.

- They can take down Titans. Jumping on them and shooting the "brain".

- You need to be cunning as a pilot. "Hit and fade" tactics is the term the game director uses.

- Pilots come equipped with a variety of weapons. Pistol, Assault Rifle, Anti-Titan Rocket Launcher, data knife used to hack AI characters into joining you.

- There are AI enemies on the maps.

- You survive longer than in COD. Making it more welcoming to newcomers.

- Source Engine. Building new engine = too much time.

- Source gives them 60 fps

- Rewrote aspects of it for next gen

- Article talks about the process of forming the team, being fired, prototyping ideas etc. I recommend reading it.

- Going for a District 9 or Blade Runner vibe.

- Integrate memorable single player moments into a multiplayer game.

- Storytelling style will be more Left 4 Dead.

- Humans segregated between Earth and frontier planets. Corporation trying to take the resources of these frontier people

One of our sources indicates that there will also be an Xbox 360 version, but no versions for rival PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

The new game from Respawn is a futuristic multiplayer-centric online shooter, one of our sources says. The source describes the game as a battle of Davids and Goliaths. The Davids are heavily-armed foot soldiers. The Goliaths are the giant exosekeltons—Titans—that these soldiers can pilot. These Titans are big mech-style walkers that move with an agility not seen in games like Mechwarrior or Steel Battalions.

While the details of the game came to us from one source—a source who is in a good position to know what the deal is with Respawn's game—their assertion that the game is destined only for Microsoft console hardware was consistent with information another source gave us earlier this month. That other source had also told us that Respawn's game would only be for the Xbox brand. It is possible that the game could be a timed exclusive, but neither source indicated that was the case.

patetico essas empresas que fogem da empresa mae, montam os MESMOS TIPO DE JOGOS, esquecendo que o jogo referencia (halo e COD) estao ae fazendo muito sucesso ainda

quer dizer

ao inves de COD anual, agora vai ter mais esse ?

e alem de Halo vai ter aquele Destiny sei la das qtas que parece um clone de halo ?

ja nao tem franquias de fps mais que suficiente no mercado ?

Mechas são legais.

O último bom foi Lost Planet.

Lost Planet passa MUITO, mas tipo.... MUITO PRA CARALHO A BEÇA de ser bom.

Só tem jogo ruim ou médio com mechas.

Estilo amaldiçoado.

Tinha um no Xbox1 que era meio arcade que era legalzim.

Zoe principalmente o 2 o é Top Notch em tudo, mas não é considerado mech não, é meiu que um spin-off haha.
